Social Upliftment Society (SUS) is a women-led Non-Political Non-Profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).

Social Upliftment Society (SUS) seeks a country of social justice,where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security.

SUS aims at building socially and economically empowered society. Where the people will be able to plan, prioritize and implement their own development programs.

To ensure effective participation of the disadvantaged community people in the process of planning and implementing various development projects and programs both at the local and national levels.

the Chairman

CHAIRMAN

I am pleased to announce that SUS has been reached the important milestone of 35 years of its development journey in Bangladesh. It is with great pleasure that we present to you the Annual Report of SUS, a distinguished NGO in Bangladesh, dedicated to the cause of positive change and development since 1988. Over the years, our commitment to transformative initiatives has been unwavering, and we are excited to share our progress and insights with you. I appreciate with sincere gratitude our well-wishers, donors and supporters, Government Departments, volunteers, program participants and the Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh who have contributed to make the efforts successful.

As we reflect on our journey, we find ourselves at a
pivotal juncture. Right at the moment, SUS has
expanded its reach to 40 thousand direct beneficiaries
in six districts of Bangladesh, with a specific focus on
poverty alleviation and sustainable development
through conservation of environment and ecology. Our
dedication to empowering women remains steadfast,
and we are eager to extend our services further,
reaching out to those who have been marginalized and
excluded from the development process. In the face of
global economic challenges, we recognize the need for
adaptability and innovation. Therefore, SUS is actively
exploring and formulating strategies that will not only
enable us to overcome these challenges but also allow
us to thrive and continue making a meaningful impact.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I am delighted to present you the Annual Report of the Social Upliftment Society (SUS) for the year 2022-2023. We have triumphed over diverse challenges and had a remarkable journey throughout last 35 years, serving the people in need. Marking a significant milestone of 35 years with SUS, on behalf of SUS family, I extend heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed staff members, dedicated volunteers, the donors and supporters, our respected Executive Committee members and also the Government of Bangladesh who are the cornerstone of our progress. Special acknowledgment goes to the people who find solace and support through varied services of SUS.

The intricate tapestry of SUS’s success is woven with the expertise, unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our management and staff members, complemented by the generosity and commitment of our partners and supporters. From its inception in 1988, SUS has evolved into a reputed and
trustworthy organization to render cordial services to the marginalized and excluded communities. The foundation of SUS lies in its core values, embedded in the ethos of more than 300 staff members, who not only adhere to, but live and breathe these values in their professional and personal lives.
The values are Teamwork, Sustained Relationship, and Gender equity & equality, Community empowerment and Professionalism. We are indeed grateful to the Almighty ALLAH for His continued boundless blessings on us since the day we
started. As we continue this collaborative journey with all the stakeholders of SUS, I am confident that our shared commitment will propel us to even greater heights of success. Together, hand in hand, we shall overcome our challenges in the years to come and achieve the long term objectives,
creating a lasting impact on those we serve.
