Social Upliftment Society (SUS) is a women-led Non-Political, Not-for-Profit and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which formally started its journey in the development sector of Bangladesh in the year of 1990 with an aim of improving the socio-economic condition of the disadvantaged and under privileged people with a clear focus on women empowerment.
ENRICH Program
Working Area : Unio: Ayubpur, Upazila – Shibpur, District – Narshingdi
Supported by: Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF); Since 2018
7979 People received General Health Service through 384 static clinics, 96 Satellite clinics and 4 health camps.
277 people received Eye-care service including surgery through Eye Camp.
8 Beggars have been transformed into Entrepreneur income generating activities with the support of the project
787 Students of Grade-1 & 2 were provided with study support, moral and co-curricular lessons through 30 Boikalik Shikkha Kendra.
50 Environment friendly cooking stoves (Bondhu Chula) have been installed.
Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP)Dairy Production Enterprises

1000 Microenterprise member have been trained on environment and safe dairy production.

Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP)
Working Area : Savar and Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka District and Singair Upazila of Manikganj District
Eco-Friendly safe vegetable cultivation and marketing value chain project
Major objective of the project is to increase smallholder farmers and vegetable entrepreneurs’ income, ensure food safety and family nutrition, through-
- Increasing income by developing modern vegetable and related processed product based micro entrepreneurs and farmers.
- Increasing number of entrepreneurs involved in processed foods and marketing.
- Marketing of new varieties of processed food and creating new employment.
- Improving local vegetable service market and create sustainable employment.
- Developing environment friendly safe nutritious and sustainable production and marketing system.
Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) Project
Working Area : Savar and Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka District and Kaliakoir Upazila of Gazipur District
The overall objective of the project is to enhance the access to earning opportunities for low income youth, COVID affected youth in urban and peri-urban area.
There are capacity development training.
Low Interest Loan support for COVID effected microenterprise.
Housing Loan Project
Working Area : Savar & Dhamrai Upazila, District – Dhaka, Lakshmipur sadar & kamalnagar, District – Lakshmipur
Supported by: Grihayan Tahobil (Fund Management Unit) of Bangladesh Bank; Since 2010
SUS arranges house loan for the poor community members of rural areas who are unable to construct a safe house.
Selected households are provided with loan at lower interest rate and in easy terms and conditions.
BD Rural WASH For HCD Project
Major Objective of this project is to
- Improve access to safely managed water supply and sanitation.
- Behavioral change to maintain Hygiene.
- Have a healthy Environment and Human Capital Development
Installed 972 Hygienic Latrines.
Constructed 166 Shower Room
Distressed Children Training and Rehabilitation Center (DCTRC)
Supported by: SUS own fund; Since 2004
DCTRC is one an exclusive initiative of SUS for the rehabilitation of distressed children especially disadvantaged, poor, helpless, orphans, street children and who are involved in hazardous child labor at Savar municipal area. Established in 2004 with a divine goal of changing lives of those children into good and productive citizens by providing them with education and training. Following supports are being arranged through the program
Save Urban Children from Hazardous Jobs and Links with Academy (SUCHALA)
Working Area : Savar Upazila, District – Dhaka and Mymensingh Sadar Upazila
Supported by: Anukul Foundation; Since 2011
Children engaged in hazardous work, street children, orphan, children from the distressed families, disabled children, are the targeted beneficiaries of this project.
Major inputs carried out during the reporting period were:
Providing one-time yearly allowance for school dress and education materials of Taka 800/- for each student
Providing monthly allowance once a month Taka 500/- for each Student.
Scholarship Program
Working Area : Working areas of SUS
Supported by: PKSF; since 2017 and SUS own fund; since 2022
Major objective of Scholarship program is :
To provide support to the poor talented students to continue their education.
Support money is being managed by two ways: PKSF fund and SUS own fund
Candidates for Higher Secondary Level Scholarship is being selected according to the Scholarship Policy of PKSF.
Candidates for MRA higher education scholarship is being selected according to the MRA higher education scholarship guideline-2020.
Primary Health Care Support
Working Area : Upazila – Savar , District – Dhaka and Upazila – Mymensingh Sadar, District – Mymensingh
Supported by: SUS own fund; since 2004 and Anukul Foundation; since 2011
The major activities under this healthcare support project are:
- Maternal and child health services.
- Pre-natal and antenatal health services.
- Childbirth related health services.
- Distribution of iron tablets & calcium tablets etc.
- A Registered Doctor provides health service once at every week.
